Because we only do disputes, there is no rotation and no seat system. You are in a disputes practice from your first week and you stay in one. Applications are read by the partners who would staff you, not by a committee.
Our teams are small, so there is nowhere to hide and the work arrives earlier than it would elsewhere. We carry fewer cases, so you will know one properly rather than six superficially. In the two or three months before a trial the hours are long, and we would rather say so here than at your offer meeting.
We recruit from a small number of law schools in the three jurisdictions where we practise, and we take a few lateral associates and partners each year. If you are coming out of a clerkship, a prosecutor's office, or a regulator, we would like to hear from you.
